Monona Mural
MG21 students had the opportunity to collaborate with the City of Monona, the Ho-Chunk nation and Dane Arts Mural Arts to design and create the Monona Mural. MG21 students helped develop the concept, painted and helped facilitate community painting days at Winnequah Elementary school and with the Monona Senior Center. This project partners with Madison Area Municipal Stormwater Partnership and Dane Arts Mural Arts (DAMA) on a Storm Drain Mural Initiative. The goal of the project is to raise awareness about stormwater pollution, specifically that runoff entering storm drains flows to local lakes, rivers and streams untreated, unlike water entering the sanitary sewer. Students will participate in a design workshop(s) that culminates with a storm drain mural painting project.
